Free bowl at Local Thyme via Belly app

Back in November, I introduced the iPhone/Android loyalty rewards app called Belly. Every once in awhile, a new business enters their program and offers a free "bite". Learn more about how to use Belly here.

Just recently, Local Thyme started offering a free signature bowl with no purchase required! Simply add yourself to the Local Thyme rewards program and this free bowl will appear when you check-in on the Belly iPad at the register.

Click here for the menu and scroll down for the "Local Bowls" to glance at your options. Looks like they change their menu based on what's in season cause the burrito bowl I got isn't on their website menu.

Other tips:
- I'm not sure if meat costs extra (it said so on the menu), so I opted for full vegetarian just in case
- Pictured at the top is the burrito bowl with arugula, which tasted pretty fresh and there was a hefty amount of avocado (always a plus)
- With the bowls, you get to choose between brown rice, rice noodles, greens, or quinoa (extra $.50).
- The earth bowl seemed pretty popular

Free Mcdonald's Sandwich until 12/31

McDonald's brings back good old childhood memories for me. It was always a treat whenever my grandma let me indulge in 10-piece chicken nuggets that I gladly smothered in ketchup. I would devour my fries and ask to finish hers. I never crave McDonald's anymore but this deal for the free sandwich is just too tempting to pass.

With this deal, you can get a free sandwich item of your choice (Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, McGriddle, etc). It expires 12/31/2015.

Here's how to get the deal:
1) Download the McDonald's app from the App Store

2) Open the app and follow the steps on the screen.

3) Time to register for special offers! Click on Register.

4) Agree to the Terms & Conditions.

5) Give up your name and email for free food.

6) On this page, make sure to press Yes, count me in!

7) You're going to receive a verification email from McDonald's. Be sure to follow the steps and verify your email. Afterwards, go back to the application and sign in with the email and password you just created.

8) Now go back to the app and you'll see that several special offers have populated. If the "Free Breakfast or Regular Menu Sandwich" option isn't there, it should appear in about 10-15 minutes. Once it does, show it to the McDonald's cashier. She should know what to do :)

Cosi Free Sandwich - Friday, Nov 20th

As an initiative to donate money to the NYC Food Bank, Cosi is giving out free sandwiches on the first 3 Friday's of November. Today, November 20th, is the last Friday!

Simply sign up to get the coupon here and bring the coupon to your nearest Cosi.

Walk in and bring the coupon to the register. Then, choose from one of the 3 following sandwiches (along with your choice of chips or carrots):

Unfortunately, I don't think they make these promotional sandwiches to order. There's this new-ish app called Belly that's basically a loyalty rewards program for customers and businesses. Anybody can become a Belly customer by signing up with a Facebook or email. Whenever you're at a participating business, open your app and scan the QR code. Everytime you scan, you will be awarded points towards a reward. For some businesses, you are awarded FREE FOOD the first time you scan. This means food in exchange for absolutely NO money out of your pocket.

How to get this deal:

1) Download the Belly app.

2) Open the app and follow instructions to sign up.

3) Click on the "Bites" option in the left side navigation bar.

4) Scroll through the page to survey all the free food options and spot the locations convenient for you to get to. Once spotted, click "Add Bite" and the offer will be added to "My Bites". You will typically have 3-4 days to redeem the offer so only click "Add Bite" when you're sure you can make it.

5) You can find a list of all your Bites in the "My Bites" tab.

6) Once at the location and ready to redeem your free food, simply open the app and scan your QR code at the iPad designated to Belly. Your offer will automatically pop up on the iPad and you should be good to order!

Here's what I've redeemed at Pitopia and By Suzette:

By Suzette: $7 Smoked salmon crepe with mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, baby spinach, and caramelized onions

Free Domino's Medium 2 Topping Pizza on October 12 at 3pm

In honor of all the no-hitter's this year, Domino's is giving out FREE PIZZA one last time! Because of all these free deals, I think I've eaten more Domino's pizza this year than I have in the past five. Keep 'em coming.. I need to add some extra layers for hibernation.

Similar to the previous MLB No Hitter deals, you'll have to be ready with a MLB registered account, and refresh the website at 3pm sharp.

Below are step-by-step instructions copied from my first post.

How to get the deal:

What's every New Yorker's favorite pizza?? Domino's!!! Just kidding, don't kill me.

But who can say no to a FREE medium two-topping handmade pan pizza from Domino's?

Long story short, whenever a pitcher throws a no-hitter this season, Domino's is giving away 20,000 pizzas to the first MLB.com users to sign up for the deal at 3pm EST. It usually runs out very very quickly so plan accordingly (cancel meetings, block off your calendar, turn your phone on silent, etc).

Postmates Pinkberry delivery

Really didn't think I'd be writing a new entry this soon.. but deals take priority over sleep, work, etc. 

The picture above is a free small Pinkberry I got (okay, I had to pay tip). I put in there caramel, nutella, chocolate chip cookie dough, and mochi. I love nutella but not sure if I would recommend it was a froyo topping. It ended up being all chunky and I basically ate spoonfuls of nutella with a small coating of froyo. NOT that there's anything wrong with that :).

So anyway, this deal is via Postmates. Postmates is an on-demand delivery app that's available for pretty much anything. It's especially handy when you're craving food from someplace that doesn't deliver or if you're too lazy to wait in line for 30 minutes to get Shake Shack. The only downside is the delivery fee tends to be on the pricier side and is dependent on distance. BUT (you were waiting for it, weren't you?!), they occasionally offer promotions where you get free food but just have to pay for delivery + tip. With a $10 off first time delivery promo code, all you'll have to pay is tip :).

How to get this deal:

1. Download the Postmates application from the App Store (available in iOS and Android) if you haven't already.

2. Follow the steps on the screen to sign up.

3. Click on the Pinkberry promotion - Free Pinkberry On-Demand. I believe this offer is only valid during regular business hours at the Columbus Circle location (330 W 58th St, New York, NY).

4. Fun part! Choosing your flavor and toppings. Afterwards, click Add to Cart.

5. When checking out, your total should be $0.00. Then, click Check Out. 

6. At the check out page, make sure your delivery address is correct and that you put in payment info. Even though your total should be $0, it's still required before ordering. Plus, you'll need to tip at the end.

7. In order to get free delivery - Click on Enter Promo Code. Use promo code: liaxj 
Then click Get It Now.
Note: By using this promo code I will also get $10 off a future delivery. 

8. Postmates will try to contact someone to deliver your Pinkberry. Be patient.. this may take awhile. You may also have to try multiple times. If you change your mind, you can still cancel delivery.

9. Once your very own Freddie V has been assigned, you'll be brought to this page and also be notified via email. If you click on the "..." at the bottom of the screen, you have the option of calling or texting him..

10. Once "Tracking begins", this means your Pinkberry has been created and he is on his way over. There's also an ETA on the screen. You = red dot; Pinkberry = green dot

11. You will receive a call or text when delivery is downstairs.

12. As you're going back upstairs, go back into the Postmates app and select a tip for your guy and rate the delivery.

The deal is supposed to expire at the end of the week. I'm not exactly clear on what that is and can only assume Sunday night.. so I'd use this deal ASAP just in case.
